BLM5280 embraces and celebrates the immense and beautiful diversity found within Denver’s Black communities, and is dedicated to using this diversity to unite, rather than divide. We use a holistic racial justice approach that includes strengthening individual and community health and wellness, relationship-building, educational programming, and direct actions.
The Conflict Center
For over 30 years, The Conflict Center has been providing programs to Denver and throughout Colorado. Through our youth and adult classes and conflict management workshops, we empower individuals to see and use conflict as an opportunity to grow, learn, and create positive change in their lives. We partner with schools to foster a community of inclusion, where students feel safe to be themselves. We shift school culture to build nurturing, positive relationships, and to implement a restorative culture where students are held accountable within the school community, making punitive discipline the exception rather than the norm. At The Conflict Center, we believe that all of us are capable of and responsible for building healthy relationships in our homes, schools, congregations, workplaces, and communities.
Creative Strategies for Change
Creative Strategies for Change works with schools, organizations, and communities to mobilize arts and education for social justice. CSC programs and services include: consulting, leadership and professional development, workshops, residencies, performances, assemblies, and events.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Council of Colorado
Formed in 2017, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity (DEI) Council of Colorado engages in activities that promote awareness, education, and action designed to move communities toward valuing their uniqueness and differences. Our members include state and local governments, businesses, faith communities, individuals, non-profits, arts and cultural organizations, and more. We believe that change only happens at the speed of relationships, and relationships based on mutual trust begin with willingness to be vulnerable and authentic with ourselves first.
Emancipation Theater Company
The Emancipation Theater Co. is a performance art social enterprise dedicated to gathering the community to share stories and inspire action. Our vision is to develop a nationwide touring ensemble of artistic abolitionists and to elevate the voices and stories that have been untold. Our name was inspired by a quote from Marcus Garvey: “We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery, for though others may free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind.”
Interfaith Alliance of Colorado
The Interfaith Alliance of Colorado promotes justice, religious liberty, and interfaith understanding through building relationships in order to educate, advocate, and catalyze social change.
Motus Theater
The mission of Motus Theater is to create original theater to facilitate dialogue on critical issues of our time. We aim to use the power of art to build alliances across diverse segments of our community and country. The vision of Motus is to work with community leaders to develop personal stories and share marginalized histories that increase awareness, shift attitudes and inspire action towards a more equitable and just community and country.
NAACP Boulder County
The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. Chartered in 2017, the Boulder County Branch of the NAACP works with advocates and agencies throughout the county on issues that affect our greater community.
No Credits Productions LLC
No Credits Productions, LLC, is a Black-owned film and video production company, founded and directed by donnie l. betts. He began his career in radio after attending Fresno State in California, and Metropolitan State University in Denver has since become an accomplished actor, producer, director, and master storyteller.

The mission of Nurturing Justice is to encourage the dismantling of white skinned supremacy and racism in American society through education, action, community building and engagement.
Out Boulder County
Out Boulder County educates, advocates and provides services, programs, and support to Boulder County’s LGBTQ communities. Through activities, support groups, and events, we reach over 15,000 people each year. The vision of Out Boulder County is that Boulder County serves as a model of equality, respect, and well-being for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.

Reparations4Slavery.com is a portal for white Americans walking the path of racial healing. The portal provides information on all aspects of the Black-led reparations movement plus links to a variety of planning tools and resources – simple strategies to help white families engage in meaningful repair.
Sister-to-Sister: International Network of Professional African American Women, Inc.
Sister-to-Sister: International Network of Professional African American (Black) Women, Inc.™ (Sister-to-Sister, Inc.”) was founded to create ‘enriching life spaces’ for Black females. The tax-exempt charitable nonprofit offers an array of benefits and programs. Social justice is embedded throughout the fabric of Sister-to-Sister, Inc.’s work.
Soul 2 Soul Sisters
We are a grassroots, faith-filled, racial justice nonprofit organization based in Denver. We transform Colorado and beyond through Black Women-led programs focusing on Black Women’s healing & health, reparations, Black voter engagement and ending anti-Black racism. Shaped by Womanist creative thought and theology, Soul 2 Soul Sisters is founded by two Black clergy Women, Rev. Tawana Davis and Rev. Dr. Dawn Riley Duval. Soul 2 Soul Sisters provides sacred space for Black Women to rest, be, share, and develop and implement plans for peace, power, healing and liberation.
Spirit of the Sun
Spirit of the Sun, Inc. is an incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the state of Colorado. For over a decade, we have partnered with Native American communities across the nation to develop new opportunities for tribes and Native American individuals. Spirit of the Sun is founded on the belief that effective and sustainable development work recognizes the intersections of culture, community, economy, and health, and that true success is only possible through collaboration. We maintain open and ongoing dialogues with all of our partners to ensure that every project or initiative reflects the unique needs and goals of the Native communities we serve. We reside on the land of the Tséstho’e (Cheyenne), hinono’eino’ biito’owu’ (Arapaho), Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute), and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, as well as 48+ other tribes with ties to this land.
Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples
What would right relationship among Native and non-Native peoples of North America look like? How can we begin to take steps in that direction in our communities, places of worship, schools, and other institutions? The Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples (TRR) program promotes education, reflection, dialogue, and action in response to these queries. Our goal is to build relationships among Native and non-Native communities based on truth, respect, justice and our shared humanity. Join us as we learn to challenge and support each other as we work toward right relationships that address more than 500 years of genocide, colonization, and forced assimilation of Native peoples.
Truth and Conciliation Commission
The Truth and Conciliation Commission is composed of everyday people of the United States of America ready to hear, speak and live the truth about systemic racism embedded in the land, laws, culture and every institution developed by our nation. We are committed to dismantling systemic racism and all forms of oppression in order to build an inclusive, diverse and equitable future for all our relations. Our mission is to uncover, examine and redress the historic and sustained acts and pillars of structural and systemic racism by engaging in processes of truth and conciliation to achieve equality and equity in American society.
